Modest blue earthenware monument built by Afza Khan Mullah Shakrullah and where his body rests, to be visited free of charge

Less sumptuous than the Taj Mahal, this modest blue earthenware monument deserves a visit. Moreover, its access is free, something rare in Agra! It was built by Afza Khan Mullah Shakrullah, poet, adviser of Jahangir and then minister of Shah Jahan. Although he died in 1639 in Lahore, his body rests in this building which, although damaged, shows the authentic Persian style. The steward of the tomb manages the visit. Of course, he rewrites the history of the place a little, but his enthusiasm is such that it deserves a few minutes of your time...

Attention aux arnaques
Au bout d'une route défoncée, non loin du baby Taj, la visite est théoriquement gratuite même si il est possible que quelques malins tentent de vous soutirer quelques pièces. Personnellement, j'ai eu le malheur de sortir mon appareil photo et un garde est venu me réclamer de l'argent en me menaçant avec son bâton hors, rien à l'entrée n'indiquait que les photos étaient interdites ou soumises à une licence.

Visite gratuite. En poursuivant après la visite du baby Taj sur la même avenue (environ 15 mn de marche) vous découvrirez ce mausolée dans son jus au milieu d'un petit parc tranquille où les familles viennent prendre le frais et le calme. Il vaut ce court déplacement même s'il est abîmé par le temps, il reste quelques traces de son faste passé. Attention demandez aux marchands de fruits et légumes de la grande rue de vous indiquer car il n'y pas de panneau et c'est vraiment au fond d'une assez longue impasse.
