HAVELI

The haveli are old traditional houses or palaces richly decorated with painted facades. The most remarkable ones open their doors in Khandero Market. Ask the locals where one of the most beautiful is located, the former residence of the Diwan of Vadodara, known as Haveli Tambekar Wada (open from 8am to 6pm, free entrance). Inside, you will see beautiful al fresco murals depicting deities of the Hindu pantheon, including Krishna, particularly revered in Gujarat.
