Camel Man is Vijay Singh Rathore, the son of Colonel Jai Singh, known as "Lawrence of Thar". This war hero fought against the Pakistanis in 1965 and 1971, and earned his stripes by leading the famous Camel Corps. Today, the agency is taken over by his son Hiteshwar. Created in 1983, it offers many excursions. You can visit a traditional village on a half-day trek or spend a night (or more) in the desert and ride a camel during the day. The camp is equipped with tents and toilets.
