JAISALMER DESERT FESTIVAL

This festival is organized by the Rajasthan Tourist Board to celebrate the culture and folklore of the Thar Desert. What was originally a local festival has become a large and very touristy fair. Many events take place in the south of the city, in an electric atmosphere. Folkloric dance shows, traditional music, camel races, handicraft exhibitions are part of the program. But the climax is reached with the election of Mister Desert.
