A small corner of paradise in Essaouira, with a long, beautiful and vast beach known to kitesurfers, surfers and funboarders

It's long, beautiful and vast enough to absorb the whole of Marrakech in summer. Although Westerners are still unfamiliar with this corner of paradise, Moroccan tourists flock to it. As a result, the beach is often crowded with holidaymakers, horses and surfers. If you're not in a hurry, head for the outskirts of town or towards the dunes - it's the only way to enjoy the peace and quiet. The sometimes violent winds that sweep across the peninsula make this bay a popular spot for kitesurfers and funboarders.

Elle est très grande et en cette saison très agréable pour y faire une balade à pieds, à cheval ou à dos de dromadaire ou du quad. Pas top pour y bronzer ou s'y baigner...

La plage d'Essaouira est très agréable avec le vent et les vagues de l'océan. En septembre, on peut y marcher transquillement les pieds dans l'eau jusqu'à la plage de Diabat, déserte en cette saison. Et les dunes sont magnifiques.

Belle plage, très propre quand nous y sommes allés, la promenade front de mer sur toute sa longueur vient tout juste d'être terminée, avec éclairage, jeux, bars restaurants, ça donne une petit air de cannes avec ses hôtels restaurants en bordure de promenade. La mer est baignable suivant le temps et le vent, quelques transat à louer
