This square, the most emblematic of Tetouan, is a must during a visit to the city. Its fountain surrounded by palm trees, its columns decorated with green and white zelliges, the elegant buildings of an immaculate whiteness and the royal palace form a perfect and cosy whole. The square marks the entrance to the El Ensanche district from the medina, which spreads out on the side of the mountains.
