Fun and entertainment Tétouan

Built in 1913, this thousand-seat theater first hosted flamenco shows before becoming a cinema in 1945. Its Andalusian architecture and its flamboyant red velvet give it a crazy charm. Having fallen into disuse with the rise of pirate films, and threatened on several occasions with permanent closure, it was renovated in 2018. The Mediterranean Film Festival wakes it up from its torpor every year in early March. This is where the opening and closing ceremonies and many screenings take place.

Western-style bars are not common in Tetouan. This one was originally the home of the local soccer team, hence its name. Alcohol is served here, although the choice is not large. It is one of the few places in the city where you can enjoy a cold beer with tapas offered by the house. Don't expect a wild atmosphere. It's more like a neighborhood bar with a regular clientele where locals meet to catch up on old times. You can also see soccer matches.
