GROTTE DE LA DABAR
This cave contains a spring from the Dabar River, which forms a small lake that is home to an endemic species of "human fish".
This cave (Dabarska Pećina) houses one of the two sources of the Dabar ("Beaver") River. At its entrance, the river forms a small lake that is home to an endemic variety of protée anguillard (Proteus anguinus), known as the "human fish" due to the depigmentation of its skin. In winter or during heavy rains, the lake swells and makes it impossible to enter the cave. The Dabar (10 km) joins the Sana slightly south of Sanski Most. Cave location: 7 km south-west of Sanski Most, 2 km carriage road (4 x 4 recommended), parking lot, then 400 m path.
