Hrustovačka Pećina
Visit with a flashlight. Home to a high concentration of stalactites and stalagmites, as well as bats.
This cave (Hrustovačka Pećina) is undeveloped, but the first part is accessible for 800 m with a flashlight. It features a fantastic concentration of stalactites and stalagmites, as well as numerous bats. The area was long used as a refuge, including by the inhabitants of Hrustovo (3 km to the south-east) during the last war. Neolithic pottery from the "Hrustovo culture" has been found here, and is on display at the National Museum in Sarajevo. Location: 16 km south of Sanski Most via Merdanovići, then parking lot and 50 m path.
