Luka Brčko
Bosnia-Herzegovina's only international commercial port, on the Save River. Welcomes French cruise ships in summer.
This river port (Luka Brčko/Лука Брчко) is Bosnia-Herzegovina's only international commercial port. Located in the city center, along the Save River (500 m east of the bridge), it was established by the Austro-Hungarians in 1913. Damaged during the last war, it was renovated in 2001 and equipped with a large crane in 2024 to facilitate the loading of barges, mainly lignite arriving by train from Tuzla. In summer, the port becomes an important stopover for the cruise ships of the French company CroisiEurope coming from Budapest (Hungary) via the Danube.
