Gradačačka Tvrđava
This 18th-century fortress (Gradačačka Tvrđava) dominates the pretty center of Gradačac, a town of around 12,000 inhabitants (92% Bosnians) located 25 km northwest of Srebrenik. It was the stronghold of the "Dragon of Bosnia", the Bosnian governor Husein-kapetan Gradaščević (1802-1834), who launched a revolt against the Ottomans in 1831. In the center stands his house, defended by an 18.20 m-high tower. This houses a café-restaurant offering views of the elegant Husejnija mosque and clock tower built under the leadership of the "Dragon".
