This Serbian Orthodox monastery (Manastir Ozren/Манастир Озрен) is located in the Serbian Republic of Bosnia, 25 km southwest of Srebrenik, in the beautiful Ozren massif, which rises to 918 m above sea level. Founded in the second half of the 16th century, it preserves 17th-century frescoes and two precious icons: one of the Mother of God Glykophilousa (from "sweetness") by Emmanuel Lambardos (1567-1631), a great Greek master of the Cretan school, and another, on canvas, of the Ascension of Christ, by the Serbian-Romanian painter Sava Petrović (1794-1857).
