PLACE DE LA LIBERTÉ

This square (Trg Slobode) forms the center of Tuzla and is the largest in the country: 7,000^m2. It comes alive with festivities and gatherings of all kinds: a big wheel in spring, concerts in summer, and so on. There's a tourist train, a fountain in the center and a few cafés and restaurants around. The southern part is dominated by the Barok, a 2009 building that replicates an Austro-Hungarian edifice destroyed in 1983. Behind it is the covered market. To the east, the esplanade continues with the Place des Victimes-du-Génocide-de-Srebrenica.
