The Solana factory museum traces the history of salt mining in Tuzla since Neolithic times. Visits by appointment.
This private museum (Muzej Solana) is located in the Solana factory, 3 km west of the city center. Although old-fashioned and lacking in English explanations, it's well worth a visit. Created in 1975 by the Solana group, it traces the history of salt in the Tuzla region from Neolithic times to the period of socialist Yugoslavia. Displayed simply but didactically, the collection is very rich: machines, a worker's overalls, plans, photographs, reproductions of the first extraction utensils, an old workshop... You can spend an hour there without worrying.
