Franjevački Samostan Sveti Petra i Pavla
Elegant contemporary Catholic monastery (with art gallery) built in 1986 and designed by the great architect Zlatko Ugljen.
This elegant Catholic monastery (Franjevački Samostan Sveti Petra i Pavla) stands on the banks of the Jala, 120 m west of the Statue Bridge. Completed in 1986, it boasts a modern structure designed by Bosnian architect Zlatko Ugljen, who also built the White Mosque in Visoko: an astonishing unstructured belfry, a luminous church dominated by an altarpiece of The Apostle Peter by Croatian Vasilije Jordan and a small contemporary art gallery with temporary exhibitions.
