Banjalučka Kapija
Ottoman gate to the northeast of the walled city. Various places to visit nearby: Franciscan Museum, municipal art gallery..
This Ottoman gate (Banjalučka Kapija) guards the northeastern entrance to the walled city, 120 m from the Esma-Sultan mosque. This is the gateway to St. Luke's Monastery and the Franciscan Museum, passing through the former blacksmiths' quarter, alongside the Hadadan Mosque, founded in 1630 but whose current building dates from 1936. The Hadži-Muharem mosque is located within the ramparts, near the gate, above the Vrbas, and further up towards the fortress is the Kršlak house, a fine Ottoman-style building housing the municipal art gallery.
