The University of Banja Luka campus is a 28-hectare protected area. Green spaces and botanical garden freely accessible.
This 28-hectare protected area (Spomenik Parkovske Arhitekture Univerzitetski Grad/Споменик Парковске Aрхитектуре Универзитетски Град) covers the University of Banja Luka campus (2 km east of the city center) created in 2012 on the site of a military base. The buildings (including an 1889 barracks) cannot be visited. But you can stroll through the green spaces, the avenue of plane trees and the botanical garden along the Vrbas river. Just to the north is a 12-hectare municipal park.
