Banski Dvor
Neo-Renaissance building built in 1932 as the local governors' palace. Now a municipal cultural center.
This neo-Renaissance building (Banski Dvor/Бански Двор) stands on the square to the north of Christ the Savior Cathedral. Built in 1932, it was the seat of the bans (governors) of the former Vrbas banovine region (1929-1941) within the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Several times damaged and restored, it became the palace of the President of the Bosnian Serb Republic between 1992 and 1998. Since then, it has been used as a municipal cultural center, with a small auditorium (concerts, theater, conferences, etc.) and a space for temporary exhibitions.
