CRKVINA HILL
Hill overlooking Trebinje to the east. Superb views and religious-tourist complex (replica of medieval church, restaurant...).
This 405 m-high hill (Crkvina/Црквина) dominates Trebinje to the east, 2.5 km on foot or by car from the old town. It's best known for its views of the Trebišnjicala, the old town and Mount Leotar (to the north). Since 2000, it has been home to the Hercegovačka Gračanica religious-tourism complex, financed by a Trebinje-born American businessman: a soulless replica of the Gračanica monastery church (in Kosovo, a masterpiece of Serbian-Byzantine art), the tomb of poet and diplomat Jovan Dučić, a panoramic restaurant and souvenir store.
