First major work (1953) by the great Serbian sculptor Nandor Glid: 5 bronze figures and a pedestal housing an ossuary.
Installed in the south-east of Jovan-Dučić Park since 1953, the "Monument to Fallen Soldiers and Victims of World War II Fascism" (Spomenik Palim Borcima i Žrtvama Fašizma iz Drugog Svjetskog Rata/Споменик Палим Борцима и Жртвама Фашизма из Другог Свјетског Рата) is the first major work by Serbian sculptor Nandor Glid (1924-1997), responsible for the famous Shoah monuments in Mauthausen and Jerusalem. The five bronze figures represent Liberty, two partisans and two civilians. Beneath the pedestal, the ossuary contains 75 bodies.
