MOSQUÉE SULTAN AHMED
Modern replica of the 1719 mosque blown up by Bosnian-Serb nationalists in 1992. In the old town. Not open to the public.
This small, exposed-stone mosque (Sultan Ahmedova Džamija/Султан Ахмедова Џамија) is dedicated to the Ottoman sultan Ahmed III (1703-1730). The original building was erected in 1719 by Osman Pasha Resulbegović during the creation of the old town. It was destroyed by Bosnian-Serb nationalists in 1992. The current replica dates from 2014. It is located in the Old Town, near the Trebišnjica, 100 m east of the Osman-Pacha mosque, 100 m southeast of the museum. Opposite: headquarters of Trebinje's small Muslim community.
