Osman-Pašina Džamija
Modern replica of the 1726 mosque blown up by Bosnian-Serb nationalists in 1992. In the old town. Not open to the public.
Dating from 2005, this yellow-walled mosque (Osman-Pašina Džamija/Џамија Осман-Паше) stands in the Old Town, 60 m southeast of the West Gate. It's a replica of the mosque dynamited by Bosnian-Serb nationalists in 1992. It was erected in 1726 thanks to a gift from Osman Pacha Resulbegović, the founder of the old town. The general original form is well restored: three-arched porch, prayer hall covered with a lauze roof and 16 m high minaret. But the destruction resulted in the loss of a precious wooden ceiling.
