Šarića Kuća
Former house of Stolac's Ottoman captaincy, dating from 1735. Temporary exhibitions are sometimes held here.
This beautiful corbelled building (Šarića Kuća) stands just south of the Čaršija mosque. It was erected in 1735 for the Šarić family, who controlled the Ottoman captaincy of Stolac. Burnt down in 1993 and restored in 2012, the house housed an art gallery of the National Museum, where prints by Stolac-born artist Branko Šotra (1906-1960) were exhibited. Most of the works have now disappeared, but some are once again on display at the National Gallery in Sarajevo. As for the Šarić house, it sometimes hosts temporary exhibitions.
