VILLAS BEGOVINA
Complex built between 1835 and 1857 with four beautiful villas on either side of the Bregava River, on the heights of Stolac.
This stone-roofed residential complex is located on the heights of Stolac, 1.5 km northeast of the clock tower. On either side of the Bregava River, four villas linked by a bridge were built between 1835 and 1857 for the four Rizvanbegović brothers, including Ali-Pacha Rizvanbegović, who was Vizier of Herzegovina from 1833 to 1851. Damaged in 1993, the complex is undergoing slow restoration. It is sometimes open to visitors when the owner is present, a descendant of the vizier, the academic and former minister Fahrudin Rizvanbegović.
