Džamija Ismail Kapetana Šarića
Elegant little mosque with garden, 15-metre-high minaret and wide lauze roof, replica of the mosque destroyed in 1993.
This elegant little mosque (Džamija Ismail Kapetana Šarića) boasts a shady garden and a porch with a broad slate roof. This is the 2004 replica of the mosque destroyed in 1993. Almost square (10.2 x 10.3 m) and with a 15 m-high minaret made of tenelija (the same stone as Mostar's Old Bridge), it was built in 1740 thanks to a donation from the influential Šarić family, whose house can be found near the Čaršija mosque. It is 450 m southeast of the clock tower via Kneza-Domagoja street.
