Meðugorje

Our favorite among Herzegovina's winemakers. Since 2008, this one is the only one to produce exclusively organically. Of course, the prices are high and no certification exists for the country's organic products. But a tasting is enough to appreciate the quality of the work of the Brkić family, which exports 75% of its bottles. If the blatina (red) and rosé are of average interest, the žilavkas (white) are absolutely remarkable: great finesse, complex aromas and length in the mouth without equal compared to the rest of local production.

Active since 2002, this wine producer is installed in a modern villa in the middle of the woods. Its 3.5 ha of vineyards produce lively and fruity red wines: single-variety blatina, vranac and merlot as well as blends of merlot, blatina and cabernet sauvignon. You can also discover the star white wine of the region, žilavka, a very good rosé and homemade rakijas (loza, travarica, zlatna dunja...). Tastings accompanied by Livno cheese and cured ham. Also on site: 12 pleasant rooms and a hotel with swimming pool of 46 rooms right next door.
