Milenijski Križ
Large Catholic cross on Hum hill, 392 meters above sea level. A symbol of division between communities, but a beautiful panorama.
This concrete Catholic cross (Milenijski Križ) stands atop Hum Hill, 392 m above sea level. Standing 33 m high (a reference to the Christ-like age), it was installed in 2000 to mark the two millennia since the birth of Christ. Like the Campanile de la Paix, it is perceived as a provocation by Mostar's non-Catholic inhabitants. In any case, the site offers fine views of the city, Mount Velež and Mount Prenj. Access by road: 6.3 km south of the Franciscan monastery on Franjevačka street, then left on Fra-Lea-Petrovića street.
