Founded in 1952, Pozorište Lutaka Mostar regularly wins awards for its puppet shows based on Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian folklore. It is located high up on the left bank (650 m northeast of the Old Bridge via Maršala-Tita street, then right after the National Theatre), in the former Mostar synagogue, itself founded in 1904. The building was donated by survivors of the Holocaust. Today, the Jewish community numbers around 50.
