Kajtazova Kuća
Traditional house untouched by war. Lebanon cedar framework, period furniture, antique carpets..
This traditional 16th-century house (Kajtazova Kuća) is located in an alleyway on the left bank, 500 m southeast of the Old Bridge. Spared from war, it was inhabited by the Kajtaz family until 2006. The owner, Anes Kajtaz, who was born here, shows visitors around (or his neighbor Indira when he's not around): a series of small rooms, a beautiful courtyard sheltered by high walls that provide protection from the sun, Lebanese cedar roof timbers, a collection of rare Arabic books, period furniture and beautiful antique carpets.
