Ćejvan-Ćehajin Hamam
The best-preserved Ottoman Hammam in the country, built in 1558. Restored with the help of France, it now serves as an exhibition space.
This building (Ćejvan-Ćehajin Hamam) is the best-preserved Ottoman hammam in the country. It stands on the right bank, 120 m northwest of the Old Bridge, opposite the Hadži-Kurt mosque. Single-storey, windowless and topped with three domes, it was built in 1558 thanks to a donation from Ćejvan-Ćehaja, to whom we owe the left-bank mosque of the same name. The baths were fed by an underground branch of the Radobolja, a tributary of the Neretva. Restored with the help of France in 2004, the hammam was transformed into a museum (2015-2021), then into an exhibition space.
