Hadži-Kurtova Džamija
Early mosque. During the Ottoman period, it was used by the tanners who had their quarters here.
Flanked by a 26.5 m-high minaret, this small mosque (Hadži-Kurtova Džamija) is located on the right bank, on Tabhana Square, 100 m northwest of the Old Bridge by Onešćukova Street. It was built in the early 17th century thanks to a donation from Alija Kurt, a member of a Turkish family from Mostar. Also known as the Tabačica ("tanners'") mosque, it was in fact used by tanners. They had their own district here (Tabhana) and their own stream for working the hides, a branch of the Radobolja, which fed the Ćejvan-Ćehaja hammam upstream.
