Symbol of the 1943 Battle of the Neretva, it was built in 1968 for the filming of the movie The Battle of the Neretva.

This remnant of an iron bridge (Srušeni Most na Neretvi) has hung on the left bank of the river since 1968, opposite the Museum of the Battle of the Neretva. It is a reconstruction of an old railway bridge, made for the film The Battle of the Neretva by Veljko Bulajić, released in 1969. 78 m long, the original structure was built in England and assembled here in 1888, during the Austro-Hungarian period. It was dynamited by partisans in February 1943. A new bridge was built on German orders six months after the battle of March 1943. The latter was destroyed in 1968 for the purposes of the film. However, as the dynamiting scene was deemed unsatisfactory, the film was reshot using a dummy bridge built especially for the occasion. It is this collapsed dummy bridge that can be seen today. But it's not the one we see blown up in the film: the director preferred to shoot the scene in the studio with a... miniature bridge! On site, a footbridge has been built to cross the Neretva and approach the bridge. Access is via the museum's memorial garden. There are two other historical features on site. On the right bank is a locomotive that was in service in 1943: a Krauss BHStB IIIb5 produced in Budapest in 1913 for the Bosnian network. On the left bank remains the bunker-house where the Chetniks attempted to repel the first partisan assault on the night of March 6, 1943.
