Travel Guide Guegouti

Guegouti is 7 km south of Kutaisi. The castle is just before the entrance of the village, on the left (behind the restaurant for about 100 meters, before the ruins appear). To get there, take a taxi. Take Avenue G. Tabidze and L. Asatiani, then go straight ahead as soon as you are outside the town. A small road on the left along a field leads to the site. There are still some rather interesting remains. They are those of a royal palace. It is the largest and best preserved of all the royal buildings in Georgia. There are some ruins of buildings built in sandstone, brick, and stone.
