The main attraction of the city is this magnificent fortified mansion of the Institution princes. Massive columns supporting an end balcony are representative of the transition space in which Akhalgori is located. The fortified tower recalls those of the highlands of the entire Great Caucasus. The visit of the castle (-17 h) is very interesting, but it is closed in the bad season. In the vicinity of Akhalgori lies the picturesque ruins of the church of Khopa (th century). You can easily ask a taxi driver to take you there.
