SIGHNAGHI NATIONAL MUSEUM

This museum exhibits a collection of objects unearthed during archaeological excavations in the region. The site is especially worth a visit to discover the collection of works by the naive painter Niko Pirosmani (1862-1918), alias Nikala. He was the Georgian "customs officer Rousseau". He was a native of Kakhetia and was only recognized posthumously. His paintings are worth a look. The artist depicted the everyday life of Georgians in his time. A must see.
