Museum displaying manuscripts by a great Georgian writer, archives and photographs, as well as interesting furniture.
Poet and public man, he was the greatest Georgian writer of the 19th century (1837-1907). His native house, which has been turned into a museum, is remarkable for its fortifications. King Iralki II had ramparts built around the entire city to protect it from raids from neighbouring Dagestan. Inside, his manuscripts, archives, photographs and furniture are on display, all of which are interesting to see. Tradition obliges, the house has an impressive marani (wine cellar).
