As a working city from 1941 onwards, the city derives its main resources from a factory of mechanical constructions, a manufacturing factory, forestry and a nearby thermal source.Covered with forests and cut from steppes, Zavodooukovsk, the youngest town in the south, is surrounded by a beautiful pine forest which houses a sanatorium and a hydrotherapy facility.
