Further south of the Archeï guelta, this well was the first from which the French were able to conquer Fada and the whole of Borkou-Ennedi-Tibesti. It is set in a pretty sandstone cirque, opening out on the left into a corridor that follows a stone arch into a small cave lined with ochre paintings of horses galloping across the savannah. At the bottom of the main canyon are large piles of stones, which are pre-Islamic tombs. This well, with its fine water, is a focal point for people and animals alike.
