Sir. Roland Symonette Park
Well-shaded park, a little spot on Current beach, ideal for family picnics
This little corner of paradise on Current Beach is a true natural gem. The beach is beautiful and often deserted and the small park is well shaded for family picnics. Sir Roland Theodore Symonette was a Bahamian politician who served as the first Prime Minister of The Bahamas after independence in 1964. Roland "Pop" Symonette was born on the small island of Current. He was a teacher early in his career and a lifelong supporter of education.
