Built in 1401, but never inhabited, the palace first surprises by its many rooms in rows, its chandeliers and its huge tapestries on the walls. Four copies of Pastrana are remarkable: those telling of the Portuguese conquests in North Africa, and those of Flemish origin executed by Rubens. On the roof of the building, strange very tall cylindrical red brick chimneys reflect the influence of the seigneurial architecture, unique in the Iberian Peninsula.

Il s'agit d'un des rares endroits culturels ouvert un lundi au Portugal ce qui nous arrangeait beaucoup parce qu'il ne faisait pas très beau ce jour là. L'audioguide est compris dans le prix du billet qui n'est pas très élevé ce qui est un plus. La chapelle est vraiment très belle ainsi que la cours intérieure. C'est une visite à ne pas manquer si vous potes de passage à Guimaraes.
