The love affair between the Douro region and the Symington family is no longer in its infancy: since 1882, five generations have succeeded one another in making the most of the fertile land of northern Portugal. The guided tour begins with a visit to a small museum housed in an ancient wine cellar, followed by a choice of three routes through the vineyards (including one through terraced vineyards over 150 years old), and then visits to the old and new winemaking rooms where the grapes ferment in wooden vats.
