Sanctuary in the center of the city, whose symmetry of the work is both impressive and reassuring in Lamego.

This sanctuary is inevitably reminiscent of Bom Jesus, near Braga. Cars drive on and under the first levels of the imposing Baroque staircase, but this is the heart of the city. The symmetry of the structure is both impressive and reassuring. The first stone of the edifice, laid on February 14, 1750, later gave rise to a temple that dominates the city and offers a magnificent view of the often misty surrounding mountains.

... à la morosité et pour la santé, n'hésitez à monter toutes les marches qui y accèdent. Au fur et à mesure la vue s'étend, c'est très beau, avec la forêt sur les côtés...

Sanctuaire
Lamego est une ville située au nord du Portugal dans la région du Douro. L’attrait principal est certainement la visite du sanctuaire Notre Dame des Remèdes. On y accède par la rue Alfredo de Sousa en montant les 686 marches pour terminer au somment de la colline prés de l’entrée du sanctuaire. Le monumental escalier de style baroque est magnifique avec toutes les mosaïques et les nombreux paliers aux œuvres sculptées. A coté du sanctuaire très belle fontaine en granit. Le sanctuaire est aussi visitable à l’intérieur.
Lamego est aussi une ville agréable avec son château, églises, théâtres, musées etc.
