Museum in old factories, retracing the history of the Covilhã wool through photos, tools and machines of the time.

Until the early 20th century, the town of Covilhã was the nerve center of Portugal's wool industry, with over 600 mills thriving in its valley. With competition from emerging countries, this industry has disappeared, but this museum, housed in 2 former factories, takes you on a journey back in time to discover the fabulous history of Covilhã wool, with archive photos, period tools and machines. A fascinating experience!
