O Compadre has all the makings of a traditional, yet economical, local eatery, easily spotted in the heart of the municipal market. We love the bullfighting decor, a tribute to José Batista, and the friendly atmosphere. Here you can eat the famous frango assado that the Portuguese are so fond of, or a dish of the day. A good selection of wines and an appetizing homemade dessert round off the meal. Simple and effective.
