Praia do Carvalhal is protected on all sides by high cliffs that shelter it from the wind.

Very popular in summer, Praia do Carvalhal can be reached by a dirt road from Zambujeira do Mar or Brejão, via the state road 120. It is protected on all sides by high cliffs that shelter it from the wind, and extends over a small beach on either side of the mouth of the Ribeira do Barranco do Carvalhal. Between the parking lots and the beach is a pleasant little establishment, Carvalhal Beach Nature, where you can order light meals, sangria, lemonade and fresh fruit juices. Just perfect!
