A museum in Tavira offering an edifying visit to admire a series of objects, figures and animals from the Muslim period.

Inaugurated in 2012, this museum presents a series of objects from Tavira's Muslim period that you might not be aware of. Not to be missed: the Vaso de Tavira dating from the 11th century, a unique and extremely well-preserved piece featuring a multitude of figures and animals and symbolizing the abduction of the bride and groom. Other must-sees include a section of Islamic wall, the caçoila de oito asas, and an astonishing 13th-century 4-tank inkwell. An edifying visit!
