Square with the history of Caldas da Rainha with the town hall, the beautiful houses of Art Nouveau style, the Chafariz das Cinco Bicas.

The Praça da Républica is a beautiful square, ideal for understanding the history of the city. Nearby, the Chafariz das Cinco Bicas (Arabic-style fountain) is an 18th century baroque monument commissioned by King João V. In the square, the Town Hall is a rather classical building, while the beautiful Art Nouveau houses show that Caldas da Rainha was a very important city at the end of the 19th century.
