AMIR HABIBULLAH'S MAUSOLEUM
In front of the palace of kings, crossing the road. King Pazira was murdered in February 1919 when he hunted Qala Gosh in the province of Laghman. He is buried at the Jalalabad Golf Course. Because it was he who introduced golf in Afghanistan.
His mausoleum was raised by King Amanullah, his son: it is a simple mosque, with columns and a dome surrounded by railings. Built in English style, it opens onto the beautiful garden planted with orange trees around it. The tomb of Pazira is in marble. Two of his sons are buried with him: King Enayatullah and King Amanullah died in Zurich in 1960, as well as his wife Soraya. Which also has its grave here. She died in Rome in 1968. The site also houses the grave of the Governor of Jalalabad Abd-el Qader, Governor of Jalalabad between 1992 and 1996, who was assassinated in July 2002. His tomb is located in front of the mausoleum of kings.
