Grote Kerk an oldest building in the city, a church housing royal vaults, and an organ, located in Leeuwarden
The construction of this church began before 1300, and continued after 1500. It is the oldest building in the city. For centuries, the Frisian members of the Nassau family were buried here. These are direct ancestors of the Dutch royal family. Leeuwarden, Breda and Delft are the only three cities in the country to have royal vaults. The organ of this church, built by Christian Müller between 1724 and 1727, is very famous. Mass is celebrated every Sunday at 10 am. Numerous concerts in the summer.
