Historic building built by Aboobaker, whose descendants now own many stores in town.
In 1872, Aboobaker Jhaveri moved to Durban from Porbandar to set up his own business. The first Indian merchant, Baboo Naidoo, had already been trading on this street since 1856. Aboobaker prospered in business and had this historic building constructed. It was he who brought a young lawyer named Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi from London. His descendants now own numerous stores in the city.

Simplement une façade à voir, historique certes, mais sans possibilité de visiter l'intérieur. L'adresse indiquée est erronée: le bâtiment se trouve sur Yusef dadoo street, à deux pas de Victoria market.
